Great location for a mountain getaway with a cozy and well-equipped self-catering studio. The staff at the nearby restaurant, Faisca, were attentive and quick to resolve any issues with the WiFi. A beautiful 20-minute walk behind the restaurant leads to the stunning Balcoes viewpoint. The common living room is inviting with comfortable sofas and a Nespresso machine. The restaurant offers delicious food and is open all day. Highly recommended for trekkers!
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Casa Do Ribeiro Frio Villa and had a great experience. the top apartment was spacious and clean, with cooking facilities in the room which came in handy as I was unwell. the beds were comfortable and the bathroom had all the necessary amenities. We also loved the communal kitchen and dining area, which was well-equipped and kept clean. the owners' restaurant next door served delicious food, including the best passion fruit poncha we had on Madeira. the location was perfect for exploring the mountains and going on walks, although the foggy weather in February made the views limited. we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning, just not in February. Cons: No issues ❌👍.

The location of the hotel was absolutely stunning, tucked away in the deep forest with breathtaking views all around. It was perfect for us as we wanted to do early sunrise hikes at Pico Arieiro, which was conveniently close. The room itself was lovely, with a cozy little sun trap balcony where we could soak up the sun. The bathroom was spacious and beautifully decorated, adding a touch of luxury to our stay.
One thing that really bothered us was the lack of direct connection between our room and the common space. It made it quite uncomfortable, especially when we needed to use the kitchen or living room.

The villa at Casa Do Ribeiro Frio was a hidden gem in a remote location. The rooms were newly decorated and impeccably clean. The spacious bathroom was a pleasant surprise. We felt safe with the keys provided for the shared accommodation. The nearby restaurant was a delightful place to dine, offering delicious meals.
Although the shared shower had hot water, it drained a bit slowly, causing water to accumulate in the floor pan. Additionally, upon arrival, there were no signs indicating that check-in was at the restaurant.

Our stay at Casa Do Ribeiro Frio was incredible! The room exceeded our expectations with its cleanliness, warmth, and spaciousness. The separate entrance provided added privacy. The bathroom was large and had all the necessary facilities, including a hairdryer and towels. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of water in the room, and the kitchen amenities, like the kettle and glasses, were convenient. The nearby restaurant managed by the owners served delicious tomato and onion soup and their passion fruit poncha was the best we had on Madeira. The location was perfect for exploring the trails and witnessing a breathtaking sunrise on Pico Arieiro. Plus, parking was convenient.
The only minor drawback was that the towels were a bit rough. However, this wouldn't deter us from staying here again.
